The town's springs
Looking for places to go walking with your family, friends or school? Torrelles de Foix has more springs than any other municipality in the Penedès.
The springs are beautiful and natural, and you can visit them on walks through real countryside. Although Torrelles has more springs than anywhere else in the Penedès, they do not always flow because of droughts: a reminder of how important water is and why we must look after the environment.
The book Les Fonts del Penedès i els seus voltants by Manel Córdoba i Martínez, which covers more than five hundred springs, has a section on Torrelles de Foix. Thanks to this book, here is a selection of some of the springs you can visit.
La Font de les Dous
This one deserves a special mention: a natural area close to the town centre, with thirty-five spouts that give their name to this spot hidden among the woods by the riera de Pontons stream. After rain there is a waterfall near the spouts. A great place to spend a simple and very pleasant day. More about Les Dous.
