Festivals and traditions
The year's festivals, from January to December. You'll find the exact dates of each edition in What's on.
- 5 January
Three Kings Parade
The Three Wise Men first stop at El Terme, then parade through the municipality to the Casal Torrellenc, where they greet all the children. Afterwards, the floats deliver the presents to people's homes.
- February
Carnival
The weekend after the official Carnival: on Saturday, a parade of floats and costumed groups; on Sunday, a children's fancy dress party at the Casal Torrellenc.
- 1st Sunday in March
Women's Lunch
The Associació de Dones de Torrelles (women's association) holds a lunch and celebration for all the women in the town.
- Easter Monday
Aplec de Foix
A traditional gathering at the Sanctuary of Santa Maria de Foix: Mass, caramelles (Easter songs), sardanes (Catalan circle dances), paella and traditional games. If you like, you can walk up on the traditional hike.
- 1st Sunday in April
Mountain Bike Ride
Part of the Open Natura race series, organised by Club BTT Els Navegants, starting and finishing in the town. It has been held more than 15 times.
- 1st Sunday in May
7 Cims Endurance Walk
Almost 60 km, part of the Catalan endurance walking circuit, organised by the Centre Excursionista del Penedès hiking club. cep.cat
- 23 June
Flama del Canigó
The Canigó Flame, lit on Mount Canigó, arrives at the senior citizens' centre (Casal d'Avis), and local clubs and volunteers carry it up to Foix Sanctuary. It coincides with the Midsummer's Eve festivities (Sant Joan).

El Terme Festa Major
A weekend of cultural and festive events open to everyone, organised by the Comissió de Festes de El Terme (festival committee).
- Mid-July
Charity dinner against cancer
Organised by the Associació de Dones Contra el Càncer. All proceeds go to the AECC (Spanish Association Against Cancer); recent editions have raised more than €2,000.
- 25 August
Festa Major de Sant Genís
The town festival, held around the patron saint's day: several days of festive and folk events for all ages, including the opening speech, Nit de Foc (fire night), live bands, a correfoc (fire run), the Empalmada Jove all-night youth party and much more. 2026 programme
- 8 September
Local holiday of Our Lady of Foix
Patron saint of the Penedès. A talk, Mass and a free vermouth for everyone at Foix.
- 11 September
Climb to the Turó dels Quatre Termes
People climb to the highest point in the municipality to put up a new Catalan flag (senyera), followed by a floral tribute from local clubs in front of the Capella del Roser.
- 4th weekend of October
Craft Fair and Clownic Festival
A craft fair in the heart of the town, revived in 1990, with the Clownic street arts festival giving it its own character. clownic.cat
- November
Cursafosca
A mountain race run partly after dark, through vineyards, footpaths and rocky trails, with two courses: a long, technical one and a short one you can walk. cursafosca.cat

La Marató de TV3 charity day
Activities to raise money for medical research, together with La Marató, the annual charity telethon on Catalan television.
- 24 December
Midnight Mass
The traditional Christmas Eve Mass, at the Sanctuary of Santa Maria de Foix.
- 26 December
Letters to the Royal Page
On St Stephen's Day, the Royal Page, messenger of the Three Kings, comes to town to collect the children's letters.
